FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, manufacture of ferrotitanium alloys.
SUBSTANCE: method involves dosing components of burden consisting of ferrous and titanium oxides, and also metal aluminum powder; mixing and compacting burden in metal cylinder; providing process by locally initiating burning of burden in air. Also, up to 8 wt% of fluorspar may be added into burden. Burden of the following composition is used in said process, wt%: ferrous oxide 32.0-40.0; titanium oxide 32.0-39.3; aluminum powder 28.0-29.0.
EFFECT: simplified process and reduced expenses for producing of ferrotitanium alloys.
