FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy field and can be used while manufacturing of ferroalloys, particularly of ferrotitanium alloys. In method before mixing titanium dioxide is isolated in boiling water at a following components ratio, wt %: titanium dioxide 20-40, water is the rest, during boiling water is totally removed by evaporation, after what titanium dioxide is isolated at temperature 200-400°C during 30-60 minutes, then they are grinned and mixed to iron oxide and powder of aluminium at following correlations, wt %: ferric oxide 24-32, titanium dioxide 33-39, aluminium powder 28-31. Received charge is compacted in metallic cylinder with following local initiating of its burning. Before blending of titanium dioxide with water into water it can be add hydrogen peroxide.
EFFECT: invention provides receiving of satisfactory separation of melting products on ingot and slag at increasing of charge mixture of titanium dioxide content relative to content of ferric oxide and increasing of titanium content in finished product of ferrotitanium up to 35-39 %.
