FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry, in particular, processes for manufacture on automatic machines of backing paper for wax paper used in candy wraps.

SUBSTANCE: method involves providing two-staged grinding of bleached sulfate cellulose: first stage including milling to 38-45 grade Rockwell hardness extent with specific loading of knife cutting edges of 1.2-2.0 kW-s/km, and second stage including milling to 46-55 grade Rockwell hardness extent with specific loading of 0.2-1.1 kW-s/km; pouring resultant mass and drying, with process being carried out at speed difference of 12-15 m/min between speed of first drying unit and speed of pressing part of papermaking machine; drying paper web at tightening extent of drying cloths of 120-200 kPa.

EFFECT: increased relative cross elongation of backing paper.
