FIELD: technique for processing surfaces of large-sized objects.
SUBSTANCE: engraving apparatus has two-coordinate scanning device and control device. Two-coordinate scanning device has first pair of parallel cylindrical guides and second pair of parallel cylindrical guides having axes perpendicular to those of first pair of cylindrical guides and positioned in plane parallel to plane extending through axes of first pair of guides. Cylindrical guides of first pair of guides are positioned so as to provide contacting of these guides with object surface to be processed along line forming generatrix of each respective cylindrical side surface of guides. End portions of first pair of guides are rigidly connected with upper end portion of respective guide of second pair of guides so as to define rectangular frame with opposite sides arranged at different levels. Apparatus also has four vacuum suckers positioned for longitudinal displacement and fixing in desired position on respective elongated holder. Each of elongated holders is fixed in cantilevered relation for rotation around respective axis perpendicular to plane extending through axes of first pair of guides. Respective slide is positioned on each guide of first pair of guides, said slides being rigidly joined to one another by means of first pair of rods. Similarly, respective slide is positioned on each guide of second pair of guides. These slides are also rigidly joined to one another by means of second pair of rods. Carriage is fixed on two pairs of rods, which are extending orthogonal with respect to one another. Object surface processing devices are mounted on carriage.
EFFECT: wider operational capabilities by providing processing of both horizontal and vertical surfaces of objects.
