FIELD: technology of inorganic materials; cleaning zinc oxide from silicon admixture.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes dissolving of zinc oxide in diluted acetic acid, filtration of zinc acetate solution from insoluble zinc silicate sediment followed by interaction of zinc acetate with ammonium carbonate solution, liberation of sediment of zinc ammonium carbonate complex from reaction mixture, drying and heat treatment. Dissolving of zinc oxide in diluted acetic acid is carried out at the following ratio of reagents: zinc oxide: acetic acid: water = 1: (1.47-1.55) : (2.6-4.3) by mass. Zinc acetate solution thus formed is treated with ammonium carbonate at the following ratio of components: zinc acetate (in terms of starting zinc oxide): ammonium carbonate: = 1 : (1.2-2.3) by mass.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning.
