FIELD: metallurgy, namely apparatuses for melting and casting uranium and its alloys.
SUBSTANCE: melting crucible is made graphite and it has inner envelope of tantalum coated with refractory oxide. In bottom part of crucible there is draining opening closed by means of stopper and recess where removable perforated substrate made of tantalum coated with refractory oxide is arranged. Stopper includes protecting guard of tantalum rods fixing removable perforated substrate and having coating of refractory oxide. Structure of melting crucible allows eliminate risk of mechanical damages of draining apparatus in period of charging and melting lumpy mass of metal. Tantalum surfaces coated with refractory oxide designed for contact with melt provide enlarged temperature range at melting.
EFFECT: increased useful life period of melting crucible, enlarged temperature range of melting.
