FIELD: pipeline transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to prevent development and provide repair of cranks in walls of large diameter pipelines, gas holders, reservoirs, shell and plate structures, made of metal, glass, polymeric material. According to proposed method, fastening elements made of memorized shape effect alloy, for instance, nitinol or preliminarily stretched polymeric material, for instance, organic glass or polycarbonate are installed on thin-walled housing of shell structure. Said fastening elements are glue by high strength glues from both ends of crack. At heating of fastening elements, re-distributing of stress field in crank area takes place with reduction of breaking forces in top of crack and possibility of obtaining initial shape of shell structure.

EFFECT: improved operation of structure, dispensing with preliminary drilling of through holes.
