FIELD: manufacture of building materials, heat-insulating mixes in particular for heat insulation of furnaces and power equipment.

SUBSTANCE: proposed mix may be used for insulation of surfaces whose temperature reaches 1150^°. Proposed heat-insulating mix contains the following components, mass-%: water glass at density of 1.4-1.5 g/cm³, 23.0-28.0; cambrian clay, 8.0-12.0; granulated blast-furnace slag at M_cr=2.0-2.8, 49.0-60.0; finely dispersed nepheline sludge, 3.0-8.0; residue of water treatment plants at moisture content of 80%, 2.0-7.0.

EFFECT: reduced heat conductivity at retained strength adequate for application.
