FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction materials, in particular to insulating masses, and can be used for thermal insulation, repair of heat, furnace units with an application temperature of 1,300 °C, for example, for sealing connecting joints of refractory molds subjected to short-term exposure to high temperatures, during aluminothermic welding of railway rail joints. Heat-insulating mass contains form waste, Cambrian clay, refractory clay, liquid glass with a density of 1.4–1.5 g/cm3, ethylene glycol, crushed waste of refractory forms from aluminothermic welding of rails, represented by quartz sand with residues of unburned organic binder up to 3 %, and water, in the following ratio, wt.%: form waste 30.0–34.0; Cambrian clay 23.0–25.0; fire clay 7.5–8.5; liquid glass with a density of 1.4–1.5 g/cm3 1.0–2.0; the specified crushed breakage refractory forms 22.0–24.0; ethylene glycol 0.5–1.5; water the rest.
EFFECT: increased refractoriness.
