FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out bimanual lateral pterygoid muscle palpation on both sides. Individual modeling spoon from plaster imprint where anatomical palpation region formations are visualized. Spoon shape is adjusted in oral cavity using articulation paper for determining electrode positions. Device having modeling spoon and electrodes and connected to electromyograph via power cables is introduced into the oral cavity. The individual modeling spoon has semi-lunar cuts on its surfaces formed to enable one to press it tangentially to lateral pterygoid muscle zone. Two round electrodes are mounted in the cuts. Wires go from them over external spoon sides having two hook-like fixing members each side. Superficial electrodes are fixable on face skin in zygomatic bone projection area on both sides. After having introduced the device, it is pressed against hard palate and muscle fiber action potentials amplitude and frequency are measured at rest and under physical effort.

EFFECT: reduced risk of infection and traumatic complications.
