SUBSTANCE: invention proposes food and fodder compositions for decreasing inflammation risk containing starch matrix and chicory extract containing the therapeutically effective amount of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactone that is able to inhibit cyclooxygenase-associated enzymatic activity and transcriptional activity of COX-2 in mammal body. Also, invention relates to food and fodder compositions used for prophylaxis or treatment of inflammation disease and comprise chicory extract containing the therapeutically effective amount of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactone. Also, invention relates to using chicory extract containing the therapeutically effective amount of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactone for preparing food or fodder composition that is used for inhibition of COX-2 activity. Invention promotes to prophylaxis or treatment of inflammatory diseases in mammals.
