FIELD: nuclear power engineering; handling radioactive waste in dismounting and recovering spent nuclear fuel held in temporary storage.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device for removing radioactive waste incorporating solid particles of fissional materials from cells of spent nuclear fuel dry storage unit has at least one joint for attachment to dry storage unit cells, waste feed pipeline connected to ejector, centrifugal separator mounted at outlet of ejector mixing chamber and made in the form of flat rotary diffuser provided with separating screen, mechanical container filters provided with microfilters, working liquid tank, at least one motor-driven pump affording working liquid feed over pressure line to ejector inlet, connecting pipelines, liquid and gaseous product outlet lines, remote-control shut-off equipment, and instrumentation. Joint for attachment to dry storage unit cells is made in the form of cylindrical shell. Tubes moving in vertical plane on sliding supports are installed on generating line of shell. Self-alignment device designed for joining to unit cell and made in the form of hollow plug with lid is installed in bottom part of shell. Plug has tube-passing holes and base joined to mentioned lid by means of screw positioned along plug axis.
EFFECT: enhanced safety in removing slurry of radioactive waste from dry storage units while cleaning extracted waste from solid particles of fissionable materials; ability of decontaminating liquid waste from radionuclides.
