FIELD: antenna engineering; short-wave wide-band transmitting (receiving) antennas using both ground and ionospheric waves of different polarization.
SUBSTANCE: proposed antenna has two orthogonally disposed identical inclined dipoles and eight drop wires. Each of dipole arms is made of two lengths of parallel conductors l1 and l2. l1-to-l2 ratio is 0.4 : 0.6 and length l2 of longer section in each arm equals quarter of operating-band intermediate-frequency wavelength. Conductor sections are spaced d = (0.001-0.0015)λmax apart, where λmax is maximal wavelength of operating band. Conductor sections of arms are connected to respective drop wires. Bottom ends of drop wires are connected to respective outputs (inputs) of mode-of-operation switch. First and second, third and fourth outputs (inputs) of mode-of-operation switch function as first and second symmetrical outputs (inputs) of antenna, respectively, and fifth output (input) of mode-of-operation switch, as asymmetric output (input) of antenna. Inputs (outputs) of phase shifter are connected to first symmetrical input (output) of antenna. Outputs (inputs) of phase shifter are connected to inputs (outputs) of mode-of-operation switch.
EFFECT: enlarged operating frequency band; ability of using antenna in both stationary and mobile radio communication means.
