TWO-MODE QUICKLY UNFOLDED LOW-FREQUENCY ANTENNA Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC H01Q1/28

Abstract RU 2611042 C1

FIELD: physics, communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric and radio engineering, and specifically to antenna engineering, and is intended for use as a transmitting antenna together with low-frequency medium- and high-power radio transmitters. The low-frequency antenna consists of an antenna curtain in the form of a horizontal dipole antenna with arm length L. Each arm is made of series-connected sections 1 of wire with length d. The dipole antenna is connected to a two-wire feeder 5. The antenna curtain is connected with equal intervals d to lighter-than-air aircraft 2, held by dielectric tethers 3, attached in holding containers 4, placed on the earth's surface. In the initial (non-operational) state of the low-frequency antenna, in the holding containers 4 there are covers of the lighter-than-air aircraft 2 and in folded form of the dielectric tethers 3. The cover of the lighter-than-air aircraft 2 in folded form and the two-wire feeder 5 with a dielectric tether 7 in folded state are also placed in the unfolding unit of the two-wire feeder 9. To bring into operating state, covers of the lighter-than-air aircraft 2 are filled with gas (for example, helium) and, by winding the dielectric tethers 3, 7 and the two-wire feeder 5, the antenna curtain is raised to the required height H. The process of folding the low-frequency antenna is carried out in reverse order.

EFFECT: invention increases efficiency and provides a two-mode radiation mode (spatial and surface waves).
