FIELD: methods and devices for providing application level support for multi-address transmission of stream media-information to a group of target communication devices in a wireless communication network.
SUBSTANCE: in the methods, substantial reduction of network traffic and media information processing time is achieved by means of transferring media information in multi-address transport mode, in which one copy of media information, meant for a group of target recipients is transferred to wireless infrastructure through multi-address transmission route. The wireless infrastructure multiplies and transfers one copy of media information to each one of target recipients, to which dedicated channels are assigned, and also realizes multi-address transmission of one copy of media information to target recipients, to which shared channel is assigned. Devices realize operations of methods.
EFFECT: reduced technological load on server with the goal of saving network resources.
