METHOD FOR ELECTROSTIMULATION OF OCULOMOTOR MUSCLES AT TREATING STRABISMUS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61N1/36 A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2313375 C1

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to pre-detect electrostimulation of symmetrical oculomotor muscles. Complexly-modulated currents should be supplied through conjunctiva towards the site of straight muscle of eye fixation in parameters that cause its fibrillar contractions. The data obtained should be compared. The muscle with lower electrostimulation should be stimulated directly through conjunctiva with complexly-modulated currents. Current parameters should be chosen at taking into account the type of muscular lesion. In case of quantitative lesion one should stimulate at current modulation frequency of 100 Hz, modulation depth of 50%, amplitude value of current power of 12.3±4.7 mA. At regeneration reaction of type A one should stimulate at modulation frequency being 80 Hz, modulation depth of 75%, amplitude value of current power of 15.2±5.1 mA. At regeneration reaction of type B one should fulfill stimulation at modulation frequency ranged 50-30 Hz, modulation depth being 100%, amplitude value of current power ranged 20.7±7.1 mA. Electrostimulation should be carried out for about 1-5 min daily, 10 procedures/course. The innovation in question enables to carry out electrostimulation of oculomotor muscles depending upon the type of muscular lesion and reconstruct their function.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
