FIELD: abrasive working processes and equipment, possibly working diamonds to brilliants.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing working surface of diamond wheel with shape 6A2 having diamond-metallic binder with diamond powder of fraction size 60/40 - 28/20 and with concentration 150 - 200%. Said wheel is made by powder metallurgy process. Diamond wheel is mounted on table secured to face grinding machine and driven to rotation at revolution number 60 - 80 rev/min. Working surface of diamond wheel is ground for forming sharp edges along perimeter of cut areas of each crystal of diamond powder and micro-shearing zones on working surface of diamond wheel with use of diamond wheel of 1F1 shape mounted in spindle of face grinding machine and rotating at revolution number 2000-3000 rev/min. Such wheel has glass-organic binder diamond bearing binder with diamond powder having fraction size 200/160 - 20/14 and concentration 150%. Both diamond wheels are cooled at grinding. In the result cutting properties and strength of diamond wheel 6A2 are enhanced during process of after-grinding diamond crystals.
EFFECT: lowered labor consumption, shortened time period for preparing working surface of wheel.
