WELL DRILLING PROCESS AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC E21B44/00

Abstract RU 2790633 C1

FIELD: drilling oil and gas wells.

SUBSTANCE: system for automated control of drilling rig operation. The system for automated control of the well drilling process comprises a ground-based computing center containing a comparison and control unit, a receiver of process data signals from a drill bit or a near-bit sub, a receiver of process data signals from the surface equipment of a drilling rig, and a driller's monitor; process parameters sensors located on the bit or on the over-bit module, designed to register and transmit signals to the receiver of the following process parameters: axial load on bit, torque on bit, coordinates of the bit position in the well in terms of azimuth and zenith angles, temperature and pressure in well in the bottomhole zone, vibrations and shocks during drilling, flushing fluid consumption, gamma-ray logging and resistivity data; sensors of technological parameters of drilling equipment located on the surface equipment of the drilling rig. In this case, the sensors located on the surface are configured to register and transmit the following technological parameters to the signal receiver: pressure at the manifold, flow rate at the inlet and outlet of the circulation system, density of the flushing liquid at the inlet and outlet of the circulation system, temperature of the flushing fluid at the inlet and outlet circulation system, draw works drum speed, torque and speed at the rotor or top power drive, the weight of the drilling tool on the hook in a static up and down motion. In addition, the system contains an actuator of the rotor or top power drive, an actuator of a draw works, an actuator of chemical reagent dispensers of the containers of the solution preparation unit and an actuator of the mud pump, as well as an actuator control module associated with the comparison and control unit and configured to transmit signals to the said actuators for controlling the operation of the draw works, the drill bit, the chemical reagent dispensers of the containers of the mud preparation unit and the mud pump.

EFFECT: effect of the invention is increased service life of the drilling tool and the efficiency of the drilling process.
