FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in control system and at control of internal combustion engines with disconnected cylinders. Method includes cutting off fuel delivery, uniformly alternating cylinder numbers through each cycle of engine operation, measuring engine temperature, reducing output of engine cooling system pump to minimum at starting of internal combustion engine, when engine operating temperature rises to designed value, and increasing output of cooling system pump when engine temperature exceeds designed value; at partial load and idling, if engine temperature is lower than designed value, output of engine cooling system pump is reduced to minimum, and engine operates without disconnection of cylinders. When engine operating temperature rises to designed value, depending on load, engine operates without disconnection of cylinders, if load on engine is large or one cylinder is disconnected uniformly alternating number of cylinders through each cycle of engine operation if load on engine is incomplete; at engine temperature rise higher than designed value, depending on load, engine operates without disconnection of cylinders, if load on engine is large, and output of engine cooling system pump is increased to bring engine temperature to designed value or two, three cylinders are disconnected by uniformly alternating number of disconnected cylinders through each cycle of engine operation until temperature of engine attains designed value, if load on engine is incomplete.
EFFECT: provision of control of engine power within wider ranges.
