FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of starting of internal combustion engines at low ambient temperatures. Proposed method comes to disconnection of gas supply and fuel feed to all cylinders, cranking the crankshaft of internal combustion engine to starting speed, periodically disconnecting and connecting and connecting gas supply and fuel feed of groups of cylinders and disconnecting crankshaft barring mechanism for starting internal combustion engine. According to proposed method, intake and/or exhaust valves are disconnected from timing gear and disconnected valves are set open and at reaching of crankshaft speed required for starting the internal combustion engine, one or more cylinders are cut in by connecting disconnected valves of cut-in cylinder to timing gear, fuel feed to cylinder is provided and after regular fires in combustion chamber of cut-in cylinder, following cylinder of internal combustion engine is cut in until regular fires in combustion chamber of all cylinders of internal combustion engine are obtained after which crankshaft barring mechanism is disconnected.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of power at starting, reduced wear of internal combustion engine.
