FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: method of operation of two-stroke internal combustion engine includes working stroke, scavenging, and filling cylinder with fresh charge. Engine piston is cooled by oil. Preliminarily compressed air is delivered to feed valves installed in cylinder head through compressed air branch pipes made tangentially relative to cylinder axis, thus providing delivery of fresh air into upper part of cylinder. Exhaust gases are let out through exhaust valves arranged inside diameter of arrangement of feed valves. Engine has cylinders with pistons connected with crankshaft, cylinder head with valves and drives. Compressed air feed valves are installed in head over periphery of diameter of each cylinder, and compressed air delivery branch pipes are made tangentially relative to cylinder axis for each intake valve. Exhaust valves are arranged in head inside diameter of arrangement of feed valves.

EFFECT: increased liter capacity of engine, improved economy.
