FIELD: the invention refers to communication technique and may be used for identification of the port of a switching panel through which a network arrangement executes connection.
SUBSTANCE: the ports of the switching panel have connection sensors linked up with a data processing block; the network arrangements transmit on the data processing block a notice about the changing of the state of the port of the network arrangement linked up to the commutation panel, for example, about setting up of a circuit connection. Then the data processing block identifies the concrete port of the commutation panel to which the network arrangement is attached according to the moment of appearance of the signal from the corresponding sensor triggered , for example, on linking up of a connecting cable nearest in time to the moment of receiving the notice about the changing of the state of the port of the network arrangement, for example, setting up a circuit connection with the aid of the network arrangement.
EFFECT: expands the field of using due to provision of possibility to identify the port of the switching panel or of the cable switched to this port to which the port of the network arrangement is linked up.
