FIELD: electrical engineering; electrochemical methods for acting upon active material of lead battery plates.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that involves conversion of vehicle recuperative braking energy into useful electrochemical transforms in battery plate active material includes generation of return-current pulse whose length is independent of charge current pulse length and whose energy is then returned to battery terminals in the form of additional charge pulse during intervals between charge current pulses provided volumetric efficiency is other than unity.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of energy conversion.
