FIELD: metal working processes and equipment, finish working of openings, mainly sleeves of cylinder unit of internal combustion engine.

SUBSTANCE: boring head includes housing where at least one cutter insert with cutting member and mechanism for fast removal of cutting member after boring opening in worked part are arranged. In order to simplify design, to improve vibration resistance, efficiency and quality of worked openings, head includes two guides (front and back) between which cutter insert is arranged. Front guide is designed for engaging with part opening formed at previous working operation and back guide is designed for engaging with surface of worked opening. Each guide has rigid and elastic portions; said rigid and elastic portions may engage with opening formed according to lower limit of allowance for opening and elastic portion may engage with opening formed according to upper limit of allowance.

EFFECT: simplified design, improved vibration resistance, efficiency, enhanced quality of worked opening.
