BORING HEAD Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: metal working, finish working of openings, mainly in sleeves of units of internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: boring head includes mandrel. At least one cutter insert with elastic holder and mechanism for deforming holder having screw and follower in the form of wedge are mounted in said mandrel. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities head is provided at least with one pusher and movable support. Pusher is designed for engaging with drive and with movable support. The last may engage with elastic holder. Follower may be in the form of cone. Head may be provided at least with one elastic member such as leaf spring designed for engaging with elastic holder and adjustment screw designed for engaging with mandrel and with leaf spring. Head may also have guide in the form of roller.

EFFECT: improved design, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of head.
