FIELD: shipbuilding; designing transport catamarans.
SUBSTANCE: proposed ship has lower hulls located in parallel relative to each other and upper hull which is connected with lower hulls by means of piston-like uprights placed in cylinders mounted on sides. Lower side of upper hull bottom has passages in form of rectangular pipes paired longitudinally and in parallel. Upper parts of side inner walls of passages have longitudinal guides over which slide blocks with axles secured on them move. Ends of rope secured on axles run to opposite sides to butt walls of upper hull where they are secured on drums of winches of alternating direction of motion. Articulated on axles by means of bushes are swivel plates which change their position turning through angle of 90° during motion of ropes in alternating directions. During motion with the aid of slide blocks over guides towards ship's stern, swivel plate taking vertical position will move water mass in passage towards stern, thus making the ship perform forward motion. During motion of swivel plate towards fore section of ship, it has horizontal position. For turning the ship, swivel plate taking the vertical position will be braked in this position and swivel plate moving in parallel and continuing its motion will turn the ship.
EFFECT: extended range of technical means.
