FIELD: fire-fighting, particularly means to protect metal air duct against fire and against damage caused by high temperature action for predetermined time.
SUBSTANCE: system comprises structural fire-protection means secured to outer air duct walls and additional fire-protective means adapted to protect air duct flanges. The additional fire-protective means are made as linear thermal expansion compensators secured between adjacent duct sections. Each linear thermal expansion compensator is made as box structure of thin-walled fire-resistant material to be secured to air-duct section flanges. Flexible heat-resistant insert is installed from outer compensator side. The insert is made as shell secured to edges of adjacent air duct sections and sealed to at least one fire-protective means layer.
EFFECT: prevention of air-duct damage under thermal deformations caused by high temperatures.
