FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, technique used in corn harvesting combines.

SUBSTANCE: cob separating apparatus has feeding chains with legs, stripping plates, and grooved rolls rotating in opposite directions and positioned under stripping plates. Grooved rolls are offset by half-pitch relative to each other. Groove formed in rear part of one of said rolls is furnished with knife positioned for movement transverse to groove. Second roll is furnished with shear plate and coiling provided between adjacent grooves. Coiling is oriented in direction of movement of stem, at an angle to longitudinal axis of roll exceeding friction angle of stem against steel. Construction of cob separating apparatus allows additional operations to be performed, such as pulling and grinding of stem by means of knife.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and wider operational capabilities of apparatus.
