SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural engineering, mainly to corn harvesters. Apparatus for snapping the corn cobs from the stalks contains two grooved rollers, which are installed with the possibility of rotation towards each other, snapping plates installed above them contain additional vertical removable plates in the middle part of the inner sides. Removable plates are provided with vertical pointed removable cutting elements that protrude above the surface of the snapping plates to a height, thinner corn boot at the base, and installed along the direction of movement of the cob in the horizontal plane with alternating protrusions and valleys that have the shape of an arc. Radius of the troughs corresponds to the average thickness of the leaves at the base of the corn boot and less than the length of the zone of contact between the cob and the snapping plates, and the pitch of the protrusions of one snapping plate is offset relative to the second one by the amount of 0.5 pitch.

EFFECT: use of this invention ensures the achievement of the technical result, which consists in increasing the degree of cleaning of the cobs during snapping.
