SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural engineering, mainly to corn harvesters. Snapping unit contains a pair of counter-rotating corrugated rollers, corn separating plates mounted thereon, which contain in their middle part of the inner sides additional vertical removable plates. Removable plates are made pointed and protruding above the surface of the crushing plates to a height less than the thickness of the wrap cob at the base. Cutting discs are fitted with cutting disks with the possibility of rotation around their axis and having diameters equal to the sum of the thickness of the cob separating plate and the double thickness of the coil of the cob at the base. Step of installation of the cutting discs is larger than their diameter, provides the exception of their overlap.

EFFECT: implementation of the present invention increases the degree of cleaning the cobs from the wrapper and the quality of their separation from the stem.
