FIELD: new process for rolling square shapes with cross sections less than those of shapes usually rolled in reversing duo-stand of billet rolling mill.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized in final box roll grooved pass. Accurate geometry of squares, increased quantity of high grade products and improved efficiency are provided due to performing depending upon temperature of rolled metal, 3 - 5 passes at tilting in two passes while completely filling with metal roll grooved pass along its width according to first variant ( 3 passes) and to second variant (5 passes) of invention. Width of final roll pass is determined according to condition 0.10 ≤ (B-a)/B ≤ 0.25 where B - width of final roll grooved pass; a - side of rolled square piece.
EFFECT: improved geometry accuracy of rolled billets, less loss of yield, enhanced efficiency of process.
