FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention aims at decreasing labor input and increasing efficiency of rolling rails from corrosionproof austenic stainless steel intended for jointing rail ends to slip switch frog. Proposed method comprises heating the billet in furnace and its hot rolling. Minimum temperature gradient over the biller cross section is allowed for on heating to 1210 - 1220°C and in further rolling by multipass squeezing of the biller in rolls with gages with controlled drawing in rough box, trapezoidal and finish gages. Note here that larger drawing is performed by gages arranged first along the rolling direction.
EFFECT: reduced number of passes, higher precision of rail profile.
