FIELD: metallurgical production, namely continuous metal casting.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes cylindrical housing having shaping tube, inner wall, unit having yoke, magnetic poles and electrical windings, annular wall. Inner wall forms duct for flow of cooling liquid. Electrical windings are arranged in each magnetic pole and they are placed in closed non-magnetic heat conducting cases. Annular wall divides cylindrical housing by lower large chamber where closed non-magnetic heat conducting cases are arranged and upper small chamber. Said cases are filled with dielectric ferro-liquid. Electric windings are cooled due to creation of magnetic field having intensity gradients of magnetic flux in windings. It provides magnetic pressure in ferro-liquid sufficient for creation of flow from periphery inside winding.
EFFECT: simplified cooling system, reduced cost of its operation, improved operational reliability of system due to changing cooling water with dielectric ferro-liquid.
