FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of cutting tools from high-speed steel; use of blanks possessing high hardness for treatment of parts made from difficult-to-work metals.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in quintuple impact cooling of mill (cutting tool) in liquid nitrogen; cutting tool thus treated shall be used not later than in two days when high resistance effect is maximum. Tools may be used after single treatment in liquid nitrogen and after re-sharpening and impact cooling.
EFFECT: enhanced resistance of cutting tools and maximum realization of this effect.
