FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves shielding testee vision from foreign light sources influence. Testee vision adaptation is carried out by directing constant luminous flow into the vision field for 3-5 min. Next to it, the luminous flow is modulated with flickering light flow of constant frequency. Flicker amplitude is smoothly varied increasing it from zero to a value making the flickers visible to the testee. The constant and flickering light flows are produced with point light source. Sinusoidally varying luminous flow is used as the flickering light flow. The point light source is moved in spinning Archimedes spiral direction in turn in n testee vision field zones beginning from the central one which center is marked and superposed with the optical axis of testee vision apparatus. Angular dimensions of each area are set in 1-5 degrees range. Optic nerve condition is estimated in each range using relationship of Cva(n)=(AT(n) - AO(n))100%/AT(n), where Cva(n) is the optic nerve condition in the n-th range, AT(n) is the sinusoidally variable luminous flow (flicker amplitude) mean value for an eye in fatigue (current) state in the n-th range, is the sinusoidally variable luminous flow (flicker amplitude) mean value for an eye in rest (initial) state in the n-th range. No testee response to luminous irritation being observed in given range, visual apparatus injury is considered to be the case in given range.
EFFECT: increased controllable visual apparatus range; high accuracy and reliability in estimating visual fatigue degree.
