FIELD: transport engineering; mobile and stationary power plants.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to exhaust mufflers of internal combustion engines. In proposed muffler each noise damping chamber is formed by walls of housing and cross and longitudinal partitions, and is made for changing direction of exhaust gas flow from 0 to 198°. Each cross partition has open and closed parts. Each cross partition is connected with other cross partition by longitudinal partitions provided with perforation and installed at angle relative to each other. Open part of cross partition is made in form of sector of cross section of housing, and perforations on each longitudinal partition are made near blind closed part of cross partition.
EFFECT: reduced noise of exhaust gases.
