FUEL SYSTEM FOR DIESEL ENGINE Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC F02M47/02 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed fuel system for diesel engine has fuel tank, fuel-feed pump whose input is connected with fuel tank and output, with input of fine fuel filter, high-pressure pump to inject fuel into engine cylinder containing plunger pair, camshaft and spring-loaded shutoff valve arranged in delivery union, high-pressure fuel line connecting delivery union of fuel pump with input of nozzle. Nozzle is provided with spray tip with shutoff needle loaded by spring, arranged in overneedle space of nozzle. System contains hydraulic accumulator with bypass valve. Output of fine fuel filter is connected to input of high-pressure pump injecting fuel into cylinder of diesel engine. Output of overneedle space of nozzle is connected with input of hydraulic accumulator. Output of accumulator is combined with bypass valve of hydraulic accumulator and is connected to fuel tank. High-pressure line is unloaded through nozzle, clearance between spray tip body and nozzle needle, nozzle overneedle space, hydraulic accumulator and bypass valve.

EFFECT: increased power rating of diesel engine and simplified design of fuel system.
