FIELD: plastic working of metal, namely for reducing tube diameter, providing its roundness or straightening tube by rolling process.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes large number of long narrow parallel-cylindrical rollers arranged one near another and equally spaced one from other. Said rollers are assembled in the form of parallel-cylindrical structure through which tube is fed at constant linear speed. Rollers may be inclined for shifting their central contact zones along radius inside in order to provide their forced contact with outer surface of tube. Rollers also may be rotated in order to make their contact central zones move on continuous parallel mutually overlapped helical paths along outer surface of tube. At gradually applying to the whole outer surface of tube local compression effort exceeding limit yield of its material, shape of tube is changed and its diameter is decreased.
EFFECT: possibility for highly accurate rapid control of process for producing tube with accurate final diameter.
