FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of compound of the formula (I): and its salts/N-oxides/isomers/enantiomers that can be used in agronomy. Method involves conversion of compound of the formula (II) to salt of compound of the formula (III) in the presence either of amine base and catalytic amount of cyanide or in the presence of alkaline metal alcoholate or alkaline-earth metal alcoholate followed by interaction of this compound with compound of the formula: X-C(O)-Q (IV) wherein X means a leaving group to yield compound of the formula (V) and conversion of this compound to compound of the formula (I) in the presence of catalytic amount of cyanide ions and a base. Method provides preparing monocyclic and bicyclic 1,3-diketones with high yield and high quality. Values of substitutes R1, R2, R3, A, D, E, Q and M+ in the above given formulas are determined in the invention claim.
