FIELD: machine engineering, namely contact-free magnetic pulse treatment of parts of gas turbine engines operating in aggressive elevated-temperature sign-variable loads.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of acting upon part by means of pulse magnetic field with predetermined parameters; before acting upon part with pulse magnetic field, measuring values σi of residual stresses at depth k in n points of surface layer of part where n = 3 or more; calculating mean value σm from values of residual stresses measured in n points; determining value Δσ = /σpr - σm/ where σpr - predetermined value of residual stress to be formed in surface layer of part at depth k; setting parameters of magnetic field according to received value Δσ.
EFFECT: improved manufacturing capability of treatment due to possibility of forming predetermined values of residual stresses in surface layer of part, increased useful life period of part.
