FIELD: electric communications, possible use in systems for frequency support of short wave radio communication for selecting optimal radio channels, and also in systems for radio probing of ionosphere.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, determining of frequency dependencies of group delay time and Doppler shift of frequency of separate modes of expansion of short waves is based on probing the radio-channel simultaneously by two continuous linearly frequency-modulated signals, shifted relatively to one another for time T, with identical parameters of radiation and corresponding processing in receiver. Application of method for determining parameters of short wave radio channel makes it possible to increase information capacity of systems for diagnosing ionospheric radio lines with a linearly frequency-modulated signal, providing stable high speed information transmission channels for existing short wave radio communication systems.
