METHOD OF MONITORING ELECTRIC ACTIVITY OF ALIMENTARY CANAL DURING EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61N1/32

Abstract RU 2317117 C1

FIELD: medicine; gastroenterology.

SUBSTANCE: midline laparotomy is performed and bipolar electrodes are implanted in neuromuscular layer of stomach and of thin abdomen. Wires from electrodes and probe are pulled through soft tissues of front abdominal wall and pelvic area. Then wires are pulled outside under tail's skin and monitoring of electric activity of alimentary canal is conducted. While implanting electrodes, their axes are placed to cross the longitudinal axis. First electrode is implanted in antral department of stomach: second electrode is implanted into start part of duodenum; third electrode is implanted into start part of jejunum by 10-15 cm more distal than duodenum-jejunum transition is disposed; fourth electrode is implanted midline part of ileum. Probe is installed in beginning part of ileum 5 cm more proximal than third electrode is disposed. Then before and after prikinetics are introduced, simultaneous registration is carried out and dynamics of electric activity of alimentary canal is tested. Electric activity is estimated on base of change in action potential, time parameters of myoelectrical complex and coordination of operation of alimentary canal.

EFFECT: higher truth of estimation of functional condition of alimentary canal.
