FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves counting total intensity and duration of potential action creation on slow wave peak by estimating amplitude and area under each period of a transformed curve. The device has transducer, bioamplifier having low frequency filter with pass band width of up to 100 Hz and high frequency filter with pass band width from 5 Hz, detector and the second low frequency filter. Nonlinear logarithmic amplifier is positioned between the detector output and low frequency filter input. The device is used for obtaining curves containing information not only on number and marked degree of high amplitude peaks and their intensity, but also on low amplitude activity.
