SPRINKLER HEAD Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC B05B1/26

Abstract RU 2317153 C1

FIELD: sprinkler heads or sprayers for irrigation of farm crops.

SUBSTANCE: sprinkler head has pressure pipeline with nozzle, holder consisting of two halves interconnected by means of bolted connections and attached to said pipeline by brackets. Vertical pin is fixed for rotation within holder so that it extends through holder center. Two planks are rigidly fixed at upper free end of pin in position perpendicular thereto and crosswise relative to each other. Bowl-shaped canvases are secured at free ends of two planks so as to allow vertical pin to rotate under the action of wind. V-shaped flexible members are joined to lower part of pin for supporting deflector in vertical stable position. V-shaped members have rollers resting upon deflector inner walls and fixed at free ends of V-shaped flexible members. Deflector is made from flexible material and is shaped as cone having side wall formed from circle cut along radius up to its center and rolled so that side surfaces overlap each other along cutting line. Deflector is fixed on vertical pin by V-shaped fastening flexible member which is connected with its one end to edge formed at circle cutting line and positioned within deflector cone, and is rigidly connected with its other end on vertical pin. For preventing deflector from rotation relative to holder, edge formed along circle cutting line, on outside part of deflector cone is rigidly connected to retaining plate having slot wherein horizontal rod is placed and rigidly fixed in lower part of holder. Owing to such fastening, edge may move, in conjunction with retaining plate, in vertical plane without rotation relative to vertical pin. Spring in lower part of retaining plate is designed for loading of roller relative to retaining plate, said roller resting upon inner surface of deflector cone and pressing edge formed along cutting line of circle, on outer side of deflector cone to side wall of the latter. Fastening V-shaped member and V-shaped members for supporting deflector in vertical stable position have similar flexibility properties.

EFFECT: avoiding reduction of jet discharge distance and irrigation area in windward direction and uniform irrigation of land in windy and windless weather.
