FIELD: metallurgy; furnaces for melting powder-like ore concentrates by means of heat-transfer agents fed to furnace for obtaining molten metal cleaned from impurities.
SUBSTANCE: proposed furnace is provided with units for forming rolled product which are connected with molten metal tapping openings; provision is also made for rollers for extension of cooled rolled product; heating and cooling units are mounted on the external surfaces. Specimens of rolled product having projections on butt surfaces for fusion with molten metal are inserted in their inner parts. Melting section is made in form of longitudinal rectangular chamber with oval chute in its lower part which is connected with gas exhaust pipe and is provided with slag drain port and channel for flow of metal to second section. Pipes for delivery of powder-like ore concentrates and heat-transfer agent and for intensively mixing the melt are located in upper part of chamber on opposite sides. Second section is provided with preheater for additional heating of molten metal and with overflow port for maintenance of constant level of molten metal; it is also provided with gas discharge port. Third section is provided with external preheaters for heating the molten metal; molten metal tapping openings are made in its lower part.
EFFECT: intensification of melt mixing process; enhanced economical efficiency due to avoidance of auxiliary operations.
