FIELD: railway transport; permanent way.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for fastening rails to wooden ties. Proposed spike has head with one symmetry plane and tetrahedral body with point. On section of rod adjoining head whose length is equal to 0.5-0.6 of length of rod part, faces of rod part, faces of rod in plane of symmetry of head are tilted to longitudinal axis of rod at angle of 1-3°, with distance between faces increasing from head to point. And in plane perpendicular to plane of symmetry of head, faces of rod are tilted to longitudinal axis of rod at angle of 1-3°, with distance between faces increasing from point to head.
EFFECT: increased holding capacity of spike and manufacturability of spikes.
