FIELD: superstructure of railway tracks; shock-free rail joints.
SUBSTANCE: butt plates are located on both sides of the rails to be joined. The head and the upper part of the neck of the rail are cut obliquely to the neutral plane. The lower part of the neck and the sole are cut perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The perpendicular cut protrudes beyond the plane of the skew-symmetric cut in the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the rail. In the assembled joint, a guaranteed gap is formed between the skew-symmetric sections of the rails when the lower parts of the ends of the rails come into contact along perpendicular sections.
EFFECT: operational reliability of the rail joint is increased.
