FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing arrangements.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of sealing of gaseous medium includes delivery of gaseous medium into seal chamber rotating in space of seal housing, discharge of medium from seal chamber through holes, braking and delivering gaseous medium along connecting channel to consumer. Rotation of gaseous medium together with chamber is provided by gas turbine connected with seal housing. Discharge of gaseous medium from seal chamber is done into manifold formed in walls of envelope of chamber and/or space of seal housing wherefrom is it delivered into connecting channel. According to second version of proposed method, part of gaseous medium delivered into seal chamber is separated and directed to compressor impeller. Said part of gaseous medium at compressor output is directed to turbine input and is passed between blades of turbine wheel after which gaseous medium is delivered into seal chamber. According to third version, gaseous medium after gas turbine wheel is discharge from space of turbine housing into drain hole through discharge channel. To implement proposed methods of sealing of gaseous medium, three versions of devices are used. Device for operating proposed devices contains support for shaft, shaft, clearance between surface of support and shaft, reserve tank for lubricating liquid, for instance, engine oil, and channel formed by surfaces of support and spiral recess. Channel is made multistart on shaft surface and it terminates at each end in ring groove communicating with reserve tank. Edges of spiral recess arranged on shaft surface are made rounded off.
EFFECT: increased degree of sealing of gaseous medium and efficiency, power and economy of seal.
