FIELD: electroplating procedures, namely deposition of composition electrochemical coatings from chrome-plating electrolytes with use of ultra-fine powder of silicon carbide as second phase.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of adding into electrolyte ultra-fine powder and depositing at temperature 50 - 60°C and electric current density 50 - 60 A/dm while using as ultra-fine powder silicon carbide with specific surface 20000-40000m/kg in quantity 6 - 8 kg/m containing no more than 1.0 mass% of admixture of free carbon non-bonded to carbide and subjected to vacuum heat treatment at temperature 600-700°C for period no less than 0.5 h at residual pressure no more than 75 Pa. Method provides increased useful life period of coatings at temperature exceeding 200 - 300°C.
EFFECT: increased useful life period of coatings in condition of elevated temperatures, simplified procedure of preparing and using electrolyte-suspension in comparison with deposition of chrome-diamond coatings.
