FIELD: electroplating processes and equipment, namely methods for electrochemical deposition of composite coatings on base of chrome containing ultra-fine powder of alumina.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing electrolyte; introducing to electrolyte ultra-fine powder of alumina for producing suspension; applying coating. Alumina produced by plasma super-condensation at temperature 4500 - 6000° C in quantity 10 - 60 g/l with specific surface 100 - 150 m2/g and with content of impurities no more than 0.05% is introduced into electrolyte in the form of ultra-fine powder. Then prepared suspension is subjected to ultrasound treatment for period 1 - 2 h.
EFFECT: enhanced micro-hardness, wear and corrosion resistance of parts and mechanisms, simplified process of applying coating due to elimination of electrolyte agitation stage.
